Belgium striker Laurent Depoitre, who has been linked with Tottenham, could be keen on a move to the Premier League, his agent has told ESPN FC.

Tottenham are tracking Depoitre as they look to bring in a new striker in the January window after failing to sign one over the summer.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add to his attacking options, with Depoitre thought to be high on his wanted list.

The 26-year-old has impressed for Gent in the last 18 months, and his 13 goals helped them win the league for the first time in their history last season.

Depoitre has scored six goals in 10 league games this season and won his first callup to the Belgium squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Andorra and Israel.

He made his debut against Andorra and scored in a 4-1 win.

His agent Rene Vijt told ESPN FC: "As far as I know there have been no negotiations [with Tottenham], but there is a lot of interest in him.

"He is still under contract with Gent, and they want to remain champions so they will not want to lose him.

"Negotiations will be tough, but that matter depends on Gent and any agreement with any interested club.

"However, I believe Laurent would be a fantastic player in the Premier League.

"He is happy in Gent, but try to find me a player that does not want to play in the Premier League."

He said there were "no indications" that a move would happen in January, but added: "Only time will tell."
