Aston Villa skipper Micah Richards has been banned for one match with immediate effect by the Football Association.
The defender -- who has also been fined £10,000 -- will miss Monday's Premier League match at Tottenham after admitting a misconduct charge following Villa's 2-1 defeat to Swansea last month.
The charge related to an incident in the tunnel after the final whistle with Richards still angry following a clash with the Swans' Federico Fernandez which happened during the game.
The defeat to Swansea ended Tim Sherwood's eight-month reign at Villa Park and the club appointed former Lyon boss Remi Garde as his successor on Monday.
Richards will be available again for the visit of his former club Manchester City on Sunday where Garde will take charge of the team for the first time.
