1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
Maybe he is a little past his peak but there doubting that Ronaldo's appetite for goals is as strong as ever. The Real Madrid star scored four against Celta Vigo, in vastly different ways. His first was from long range, before he added a free kick, a tap-in and, finally, a header. Ronaldo now has 27 league goals this season.
2. Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
The Barcelona forward was typically brilliant in a 4-0 win at Eibar, scoring two goals, one of which was a fine individual effort. Messi missed two months earlier this season but appears to be peaking at the right time and has scored eight goals in his last four games in all competitions. In total, he has scored 35 times in 2015-16.
3. Riyad Mahrez (Leicester)
Leicester are five points clear at the top of the Premier League and Mahrez is the biggest reason why. The Algerian playmaker scored the winner at Watford with a superb curling shot, which takes his league goals tally to 15 this season. He also has 11 assists, which means he has contributed to exactly half of his club's total goals.
4. Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
He wasn't perfect -- a missed penalty denied him a hat trick -- but two-goal Aguero was pretty good in a comfortable win against Villa. The Argentine forward now has 16 Premier League goals this season and Man City fans must spend decent parts of everyday hoping that he can remain injury-free for the rest of the season.
5. Dimitri Payet (West Ham)
If Mahrez is favourite for player of the year in England, Payet is surely the top choice for newcomer of the year. The Frenchman has brought a new dimension to West ham's play since his move from Marseille and was at it against on Saturday with a goal and an assists in an improbable comeback win at Everton.
6. Koo Ja-Cheol (Augsburg)
Having scored four goals in 19 previous Bundesliga games this season, Koo notched a 52-minute hat trick as Augsburg drew 3-3 with Bayer Leverkusen. The South Korean international midfielder, who captained his country at the 2014 World Cup, is in his first season at the WWK Arena, having previously been with Mainz.
7. Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus)
21 years after making his professional debut at the age of 17, Buffon remains one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The Italian World Cup winner anchored another Juventus win on Sunday and has conceded just 14 goals in 27 Serie A games this season. He is currently on a run of nine straight league clean sheets.
8. Mohamed Salah (Roma)
Roma have been revitalized since the return of Luciano Spalletti as manager and most recently swept to a 4-1 in against Fiorentina. The inspiration behind the win was Salah, who set up the opening goal for Stephan El Shaarway and then scored twice himself. The 23-year-old Egyptian forward has six goals in his last six league games.
9. Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)
The sight of Pep Guardiola speaking animatedly to Kimmich, immediately after the final whistle against Dortmund, might have made some wonder whether the Bayern manager was upset with the performance of his young defender. Far from it, as Guardiola later revealed: ""I told him that he's perhaps one of the best centerbacks in the world."
10. Salomon Rondon (West Brom)
That the Venezuelan forward has scored four times in his last six league games is impressive enough but, given he plays for a club that perennially battles against relegation, the fact that two of those strikes were winning goals is even more noteworthy. Rondon's latest vital contribution secured a 1-0 win vs. Man United.
