Barcelona looking at Salomon Rondon, Cesc Fabregas off to Serie A?

With the summer transfer window upon us, rumours are picking up steam. Transfer Talk has its finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest gossip. Follow our live blog below and see the latest deals here.

TOP STORY: Barcelona interested in Rondon

Salomon Rondon has emerged as a shock target for Luis Enrique as he aims to acquire a "Plan B," according to the Daily Mirror. The Venezuelan's brute force could hand the Blaugrana a threat from set pieces, though Barca have several other candidates to improve their strike force.

After missing out on the Champions League trophy, Luis Enrique has ordered the Camp Nou hierarchy to secure significantly greater depth to his squad and that means adding Rondon, Atletico's Luciano Vietto, Milan's Carlos Bacca or Newcastle's Ayoze Perez. Valencia's Paco Alcacer is also a strong target, according to Sport.

The Barca boss is on the record as saying he expects more transfer deals. So which of these lucky players will end up with the chance to play with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez this season?

PAPER TALK

Fabregas in limbo after opener snub

Who would have thought that such a wonderful midfielder such as Cesc Fabregas would be searching around for a new club?

Despite Chelsea entering a period of transition under Antonio Conte -- in which Fabregas seems out of the plans for -- the club are struggling to find a suitor after Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus refused to bite. However, the Daily Star says there are two new candidates.

Serie A clubs AC Milan and Inter are reported to have expressed an interest but it is unclear whether the Spain international would jump at the chance to move to either club.

Mou to offer Rojo to secure Fonte

Jose Fonte is a natural fit for Jose Mourinho and rumours have circulated recently that the Portuguese is a candidate to strengthen Manchester United's depth at centre-back.

The Sun reports that in order to tempt Southampton into a sale they will offer up Marcos Rojo to Claude Puel in return.

An £8 million fee for Fonte could suffice, with the out-of-favour Argentinian a convenient makeweight to immediately fill the vacancy.

Milan to settle for Sosa?

Milan's revolution has started with a sputter after a mega-rich Chinese consortium agreed to buy the Rossoneri, but they could be ready to make a signing to boost the beleaguered Vincenzo Montella just days ahead of the new season.

Gazzetta dello Sport says that dreams of landing Rodrigo Bentancur or Juan Cuadrado are over and that Milan will be forced to settle for Jose Sosa.

The Besiktas midfielder will cost in the neighbourhood €7.5m and finally hand Milan much-needed support as they bid to wake up from their tag as a sleeping giant in Serie A.

Tap-ins

- Hull's squad is laughably thin right now, and with the season already underway there are major concerns that the Tigers stand little chance of even contending for survival, despite beating champions Leicester on the opening day of the season.

But wait, a £9m bid for a striker could hand Mike Phelan a major boost and the Daily Mail reports that the forward is Benjamin Moukandjo from Lorient.

- Barcelona appear ready to cash in on Claudio Bravo with City ready to pounce, but that leaves a void to be filled and Valencia are dragging their heels in negotiations for their highly rated Brazilian stopper Diego Alves.

Sport reports that former Barca player Pepe Reina has emerged as a contingency plan. Having spent time as a back-up to Manuel Neuer at Bayern, the Napoli star could be the ideal choice to provide cover for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

- Valencia have swooped in to hand Mario Suarez a lifeline after a troubled stint with Watford.

The Spaniard has struggled to find a club willing to hand him a starring role after leaving Atletico for Fiorentina and Walter Mazzarri has now sanctioned a season-long loan away from the Hornets to the Mestalla.
