Manchester City may just be keeping a close eye on what happens at Barcelona over the next few months after the announcement that Luis Enrique will leave at the end of the season.
Uncertainty over a new coach, and what his philosophy will be, could see some of the more established players at Camp Nou considering a move away from the Spanish giants, though if there's one club who have preached continuity in terms of approach, then it is Barcelona.
That said, City would be in prime position if the right players become available. Pep Guardiola knows many of then from his time at Barca and persuading some to move to the Etihad could help him establish his own footballing revolution, which is still bedding in.
The Catalan regards his old side highly -- describing them as still "the best team in the world" after Enrique's departure. But here are five players that Guardiola could try to tempt to join him in the Premier League next summer.
Lionel Messi
The Argentina striker is still to sign a new contract at Barca with his current deal running out at the end of the 2017-18 season. Guardiola has made no secret of his admiration for Messi -- he said in May 2015: "He is the best player of all time. I can compare him with Pele" -- but ruled out speculation over a reunion this month.
City's chief executive Ferran Soriano said in October that the club would "open the doors wide" if Messi ever became available and the club certainly have the cash to pay whatever fee Barcelona require, as well as keeping his wages at their current level.
With a new Barca boss facing a rebuilding project for an ageing squad, the 30-year-old may not want to commit his future beyond 2018. And, if Barcelona decide to sell him to bankroll a new beginning, City and the Premier League could be the beneficiaries.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen
With Claudio Bravo's well-documented troubles since his move to City, it could be time to make a fresh bid for the Barca goalkeeper they wanted in the first place.
Guardiola admitted he tried to sign the Germany international last summer before Barca decided Ter Stegen was their best long-term option and allowed Bravo to leave for £17 million.
But, with Bravo struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League, Willy Cabellero out of contract in the summer and Joe Hart's career at the Etihad effectively over, the City boss faces a dilemma over who will be his long-term No. 1.
His current deal expires in 2019 and, this time, will City go all out to land a keeper that matches Guardiola's demands to be comfortable on the ball but is also more effective in stopping the opponents from scoring?
Sergio Busquets
Guardiola is a huge fan of Busquets and saw him as a key component in his hugely successful Barca days occupying the pivotal deep-lying midfield role. "Busquets is the best defensive central midfielder in the world. He's tactically very strong," Guardiola said in 2012.
The 28-year-old hasn't been in the best of form this season, with his performances mirroring those of Barca in one of their most difficult seasons in recent history. He has been with the club for 12 years and may benefit from a fresh start and admitted last February that Guardiola is the one manager who could tempt him away.
He would certainly walk into the current City midfield.
Gerard Pique
City are set to make major changes to their defence in the summer and someone with the experience and quality of Pique would be an ideal addition. The back four is short of leadership with captain Vincent Kompany's persistent injuries and the Barca captain would be ideal to assist the development of young defender John Stones, who is has been compared to Pique in his early days.
However, it would be a major long shot given Pique played for City's rivals Manchester United. Despite warming to City with the arrival of Guardiola, the 30-year-old said in August: "Between Pep and United I opt for the latter. I spent some really good years there and I think of it as my second home."
Neymar
At 25, the Brazilian is possibly Barca's most valuable asset and could demand the biggest fee with which to rebuild their squad.
Neymar claimed he turned down interest from City and United before signing a new five-year deal in October. It's highly unlikely that he will leave but the idea of him joining forces with exciting young Brazil teammate Gabriel Jesus would certainly be an appetising prospect at the Etihad, even if it would mean the exit of one of City's army of wingers.
