Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal admits that he has a selection headache for the FA Cup final, with four players having come back into contention for the showpiece against Crystal Palace at Wembley on Saturday.
Midfielders Marouane Fellaini and Morgan Schneiderlin are back from suspension and illness respectively, while defenders Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo have both overcome their injury problems.
It leaves the Dutchman with a strong squad to choose from, despite the continued absences of left-back Luke Shaw and midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Speaking at his news conference on Thursday, Van Gaal said: "We have a squad of 27 players, so I have to disappoint nine players in advance.
"Then I have to select the team and disappoint more players. Some players are thinking that they could play."
Discussing the players returning from injury, he added: "You have filmed the training session and have seen a lot of fit players, which makes it more difficult for me."
Missing out on a big game is something that Van Gaal experienced himself as a player, but he admitted that it was not in a game of this magnitude.
He explained: "I have one experience that I didn't play against Feyenoord, but not in a cup match. It was an ordinary match, but it was a derby with Sparta Rotterdam. That was a big blow for me."
