AMSTERDAM -- Dutch football authorities want video replay officials in next season's Dutch Cup competition as the sport rolls out live testing of the long-awaited technology.
But while FIFA president Gianni Infantino wants video replays to check controversial calls at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, officials who ran a workshop in Amsterdam this week want to make sure they nail down clear guidelines on exactly how it will be used before deploying the technology.
Lukas Brud, secretary of football rule-making panel IFAB, says "we are not in a hurry."
Gijs de Jong of the Dutch association told The Associated Press that offline testing has been positive and the Netherlands now hopes to be among the first countries to conduct live tests.
