Leicester City defender Liam Moore is being lined up for a move to Reading, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.
New Reading boss Jaap Stam has identified Moore as a target as he looks to strengthen his defensive options ahead of the Championship season getting underway in two weeks.
Moore has dropped down the pecking order at Leicester in the last two seasons after playing a key role in helping the Foxes win promotion to the Premier League in the 2013-14 season.
The former England under-21 international was unable to break into the side last season because of the form of first-choice central defensive partnership Wes Morgan and Robert Huth.
Moore had a spell out on loan at Bristol City last term and a number of clubs have enquired about the possibility of taking him on loan.
However, Reading have expressed an interest in signing Moore on a permanent basis and are locked in talks with Leicester about a possible deal.
It remains to be seen if Leicester would consider selling Moore as Claudio Ranieri does not want to weaken his squad as they prepare for the extra demands of playing in the Champions League next season.
