Lazio forward Keita Balde has handed in an official transfer request, according to his agent Roberto Calenda.
The Senegalese forward was involved in an altercation with Senad Lulic during Wednesday's training session, with the club's own TV station broadcasting footage of the incident. And on Thursday he did not appear for training.
His agent says that they are running out of patience with the Serie A club and that the player has formally asked to leave, but he would not rule out staying if Lazio can convince him with an improved contract.
"At the moment, there are no negotiations with Lazio to renew the contract, considering he has not even been offered a renewal," Calenda told Sky Sports Italia. "One thing is certain: we have requested a transfer.
"Obviously it takes two for these things to happen and he has a contract with Lazio for the next two years and we will respect that right to the end.
"Lazio also have every right to demand a sum worthy of a top player for him, even if his contract certainly doesn't reflect one of a top player. Anyway, if there were to be the chance to leave, it would be very welcome."
Calenda added that Keita has not felt valued by the Rome-based club, which is why he has requested to leave.
"We want clarification, to understand what the club think about the lad," he said. "Keita's been asking for this for a while, but unfortunately we keep getting the same old promises which haven't been kept.
"They are wearing down the lad's ambitions and this has led to us to ask to leave."
While Keita may be leaving Lazio this summer, Ciro Immobile has arrived, with the Biancocelesti finally landing the man they have been pursuing all summer.
The Italy international has joined from Sevilla and Immobile's father says it is a move both he and the club desperately wanted.
"He's delighted with this new adventure," Antonio Immobile told gianlucadimarzio.com.
"Lazio had been after him since before Euro 2016. This was the right choice and an option we always liked."
And Immobile's father also revealed that a move back to his home city of Naples was never on the table, despite rumours to the contrary.
"Absolutely not, they never negotiated with us," Immobile said. "There were one or two rumours, but nothing definite."
