Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel has said Andre Schurrle suffered a knee injury in Tuesday's Champions League game against Real Madrid.
Schurrle, who scored his side's late equaliser in a 2-2 draw after coming on as a substitute, had missed the previous two weeks with a knee strain.
A statement on the official Borussia Dortmund website said Schurrle, along with Marc Bartra and Adrian Ramos, would now miss the trip to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
It quoted Tuchel as saying: "Safety is our priority. Now we have to use the two weeks so we can be on the safe side [for the next Bundesliga game on Oct. 14] against Hertha."
Schurrle will also miss Germany's forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Czech Republic and Northern Ireland.
