Eric Bailly has said his English is improving "little by little" as he tries to break down the language barrier in Manchester United's defence.
Ivory Coast defender Bailly has been impressive for United so far this season, having signed in the summer from Villarreal, but communication has been an area to improve on. The 22-year-old, who has made 10 appearances for United this season, is taking English lessons.
"There are players who speak Spanish and French and they help me integrate," Bailly said. "I've just started having English classes too. Little by little.
"It's important for the other players to have confidence in you. It was my dream since being a child to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and, now I'm here, I'm going to take that chance."
Daley Blind, who started the season as Bailly's central defensive partner but has recently switched to left-back, said: "I think the key is to talk a lot [in defence]. It's a bit more difficult with Eric because of the language barrier but we both understand football and you can also do a lot with your hands.
"We've had a good understanding already. It's important to be able to rely on each other and help each other, as that helps build a team together."
Chris Smalling said earlier this week that he can understand the comparisons between Bailly and ex-United defender Nemanja Vidic.
