MANCHESTER -- Yaya Toure is not guaranteed to start against Burnley despite his heroics in the victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.
The midfielder was brought in for his first Premier League start of the season after apologising for comments from his agent Dimitri Seluk about manager Pep Guardiola.
Toure responded with a goal in each half as City won 2-1 at Selhurst Park to record just their second victory in six Premier League games.
The 33-year-old missed the 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach in midweek as he is not eligible to play in the Champions League after being left out of Guardiola's squad.
And the the Catalan coach told a news conference he may not start Saturday's lunchtime game at Turf Moor.
"Everybody is droppable," Guardiola said. "Yaya was so important at Crystal Palace with his two goals and how he played but as a team our performance must be better so I am concerned to play better as a team.
"Of course Yaya can be important, like every other player. I don't want to put the responsibility on Yaya to win the games, I never do that.
"I trained with the best players in the world so I try to be involved in all of the process of the game so that one player doesn't shoulder responsibility to win the game. It would not be good for Yaya or for the team."
However, Guardiola confirmed that Toure is firmly back in his plans after making just one appearance in City's first 18 matches of the season.
And he says he will rotate his squad over of a period that sees City face title rivals Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool before the start of the new year.
"Yaya is going to play games and some of them are not going to play," Guardiola added. "The last game in Crystal Palace for example, [John] Stones, [Ilkay] Gundogan and David Silva didn't play.
"When you play in that rhythm at that level for 11 months every three days and with national teams and so on, all the players are important."
Guardiola warned his side that they must be wary of Burnley, who inflicted Liverpool's only defeat of the season when they won 2-0 despite having only 20 percent of possession.
"We cannot forget they beat Liverpool, they lost in 93rd minute against Arsenal and they draw in Old Trafford," he said. "What they do, they do really well, I am really impressed about their quality, their spirit.
"Of course they lost the last game 4-0 to West Brom, I can imagine what happened when a team loses 4-0. Their attention and focus is higher than before.
"I prefer teams when they win a lot of games. They didn't win. In this moment, they are ready and prepared.
"In terms of intensity, I think they will be better. Their legs are faster and cleaner than ours."
