Middlesbrough winger Viktor Fischer will miss the club's festive programme after suffering a knee injury during Saturday's win over Swansea.
Head coach Aitor Karanka said the 22-year-old would be sidelined for up to three weeks.
"He's a good lad and an important player in the changing room," the manager told the club's official website.
"We have to keep supporting him as he is a player who was taking his chance."
Denmark international Fischer, a £3.8 million summer signing from Ajax, has started the last four Premier League games.
Boro travel to Burnley and Manchester United over Christmas and entertain Leicester.
