Pescara president Daniele Sebastiani has refused to step down after once again being targeted by angry fans.
Two of Sebastiani's cars were set on fire while parked on the driveway of his home back in February, and on Sunday night a cherry bomb was thrown into the garden of his residence.
Pescara's relegation to Serie B has long-been sealed with the side picking up just two wins and 14 points from their 35 Serie A games so far this season, but Sebastiani insists he will not cave into fan pressure and intimidation.
"President Daniele Sebastiani thanks the entire city and all of the authorities for the numerous declarations of solidarity and respect received following the vile act committed during the night and repeats firmly that this will not have even the minimal impact on the future of the club," read a statement published on Pescara's official website.
"The aforementioned declarations [of solidarity] demonstrate once again, if ever there were any need, that such acts do not have any place in the city of Pescara and among Pescara sport fans. With the same efforts that have been a trademark of this club over the years, we will continue to work hard on pursuing new and ambitious objectives and, thus, to ensure the Pescara fans are given the enthusiasm they need.
"With confidence in the excellent work carried out by the security forces and the magistrates so far, I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for being close, especially to me personally, so frequently."
Pescara next travel to Bologna and then host fellow relegated side Palermo, before concluding their season with a trip to Fiorentina.
