Free State Stars have announced the appointment of Luc Eymael as the club's new head coach.
The Belgian replaces Sammy Troughton, who was shown the door despite holding champions Bidvest Wits to a 2-2 draw last night.
Eymael has previous experience in the PSL, having coached Polokwane City last season - though it was hardly smooth sailing. He helped the side to the top half of the table before a supposed fallout with management, which prompted him to jump ship to Bloemfontein Celtic.
However, the League found he was in breach of contract and ordered him back to City, though he played no further part in coaching the club for the remainder of the season.
"We decided to go with coach Luc, but firstly we decided to terminate the contract of Sammy Troughton," Ea Lla Koto general manager Rantsi Mokoena announced on the club's website. "He has signed a two-year contract with the club.
"We welcome him to Free State Stars and looking forward to working with him, because his record speaks for itself - with the experience, the passion and the work ethic that he has.
"His experience of South African football and African football was a key factor and he is well travelled and achieved a lot in Africa. Once again we looking forward to be working with him, and with the squad we have he has been also following the team. We hope we can have a successful season with coach Luc."
Eymael has also coached African heavyweights like AS Vita, AFC Leopards and Al-Merrikh.
