Bristol's Bobby Reid warns Man City ahead of second leg

Bobby Reid has warned Manchester City they still have much to do to get past Bristol City in the Carabao Cup semifinals.

The Premier League leaders needed a late Sergio Aguero winner to claim a slender 2-1 advantage from the first leg of the last-four tie on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola's men will be strong favourites to progress to next month's final at Wembley but Reid believes the Robins have proved they are capable of springing a surprise in the return clash Ashton Gate.

Reid, who opened the scoring in the tie from the penalty spot, said: "I think with the crowd behind us it will be a different atmosphere. It's a closed-in stadium and the fans are right on top. The fans will be buzzing, right behind us.

"We'll still play with that energy and desire and who knows how it will go?''

Asked if he felt a victory was possible, Reid said: "100 percent. There's only one goal in it. 1-0 would be enough.''

The Championship outfit have already beaten four top-flight sides in the competition this season and their confidence was obvious as they pushed their hosts at the Etihad Stadium to the limit.

Reid's penalty on the stroke of half-time was cancelled out by Kevin De Bruyne after the break but it was not until the second minute of injury time that Aguero gave his side the edge.

Reid, 24, said: "They move the ball well and at any given time they can do something special but we worked hard to move the ball and we showed we can play good football as well.

"You have to give them a bit of respect but not so much that they can just roll you over. We want to be in the Premier League and we want to be playing the best teams in the Premier League. We want to showcase our skills against the best and play them.''
