Stoke City midfielder Ibrahim Afellay has been told to stay away from the club by manager Paul Lambert, the Daily Telegraph has reported.
Lambert has informed former Barcelona player Afellay that he is not welcome to train with the club, who have seven games left in which to rescue their Premier League status.
The Telegraph reported that Lambert had become frustrated by Afellay's attitude in training.
The manager is being backed in his decision by the Stoke hierarchy, with Afellay's representatives expected to begin talks over the termination of his £30,000-a-week contract.
The player joined Stoke in July 2015 but has not featured for them since December.
Stoke are three points adrift of safety, with their next match coming at Arsenal on Sunday.
