Ex-Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston believes that Kwadwo Asamoah is hoping a move to Inter Milan will help him rediscover his best form.
He spent six years at Juve, winning the Serie A title in every season, but Kingston believes that the Old Lady never truly saw the best of the former Udinese man.
"He has had a very good career at Juventus and the trophies show that," Kingston told KweséESPN, "but I don't think we saw the best of him there.
"We've always known that Asamoah is best in an advanced midfield position setting up chances, so while he has performed his role at left-wing back effectively, he is always at his best when playing more central.
"I think Asamoah himself will be hoping the Inter move allows him to play in midfield a lot more because that is where he is most effective."
Asamoah racked up 149 appearances for Juve, but despite winning a series of domestic honours to complement his Serie A haul, and reaching two Champions League finals, there's a sense that he never truly thrived in Turin.
Both Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri opted to use him predominantly on the left side, and a series of chronic injuries mean that he took time off from international duty and hasn't played for the Black Stars since the 2014 World Cup.
However, now with his injuries behind him, Asamoah has hinted that he's nearly ready to return to Black Stars duty.
"Last season I felt better than ever, played regularly and training great," Asamoah told KweséESPN.
"I have always said once I was fully fit I would return to the national team and that time is close."
