Joris Gnagnon has signed for Sevilla on a five-year deal from Stade Rennais, the Spanish heavyweights have confirmed.
In a statement on the club website, Los Rojiblancos have revealed they they've recruited the 21-year-old from Ligue 1, with the Franco-Ivorian defender penning a deal that will keep him at the club until 2023.
The centre-back featured 36 times in the French top flight for Rennes last season, netting against both AS Monaco and Olympique de Marseille.
Despite his slender years, Gnagnon was influential as Rennes finished fifth in Ligue 1 last term, ending the campaign with the league's sixth best defensive record.
The defender made his first-team debut for Rennes in January 2016, just after his 19th birthday, and he'd enjoy a breakout campaign during the 2016-17 season, making 27 Ligue 1 outings for Les Rouges et Noirs.
Gnagnon made his debut for France's U-21 side in May 2018 despite earlier committing his future to the Ivorian national side.
He was called up by then-Elephants coach Marc Wilmots in May 2017, but didn't make his debut for the West Africans and is still eligible for either nation.
