Liverpool's Ben Woodburn set to join Sheffield United on loan - source

Ben Woodburn is set to join Sheffield United on a season-long loan, a source confirmed to ESPN FC.

Woodburn, 18, joined Liverpool for their tour of the United States but did not travel to France on Monday for the team's five-day training camp with the loan in the works.

A Wales international and Liverpool's youngest goalscorer, Woodburn said he was happy for Jurgen Klopp to decide whether he spent the upcoming campaign on loan.

United, managed by Chris Wilder, appear to have beaten a host of English Football League clubs eyeing Woodburn.

Woodburn made just one appearance for Liverpool last season and was close to joining Sunderland on loan in January before Klopp decided against the move once Philippe Coutinho departed for Barcelona.

Woodburn featured in Liverpool's 4-1 victory over Manchester United in Michigan on Saturday, with Klopp afterwards believing the midfielder had returned to his best.

"Ben Woodburn is 100 percent back," Klopp said. "[That's] how it is with young boys -- from time to time, the improvement doesn't go day by day, but he has played such a good preseason."
