Promising Trabzonspor teenager Abdulkadir Omur would welcome the chance to join Liverpool amid recent reports of an offer from the Anfield club.
Liverpool have been closely linked with a move for Omur, 19, over the past week after reports in Turkish media claimed the Premier League leaders tabled a £27 million bid for the Trabzonspor winger.
Omur discussed the transfer speculation regarding his future with the media during a news conference on Sunday.
"Liverpool are a great club, one of the greatest in the world. These offers are something Trabzonspor need to discuss," Omur said.
"If the club give the go-ahead, talks can be held. The club's interests take precedence. I'll do whatever is in the club's best interests."
Omur said Trabzonspor have the final say on his immediate future.
"If the club say leave, I'll leave. If they say stay, I'll stay. We are having a great season. We are in the title race and on course to make the Turkish Cup final," he said.
The Turkey international also addressed the comparisons made by the Turkish media between himself and Lionel Messi.
A story on UEFA's website first coined the nickname "Turkish Messi" back in 2015.
"Some people have compared my playing style to Messi's. He is the best footballer on the planet and to be linked to him is amazing," Omur said.
"My goal is to be successful at Trabzonspor and then make a move to Europe."
Trabzonspor are preparing to restart the league campaign following a midseason break which ends on Friday.
Omur has established himself as a first-team regular at Trabzonspor despite his young age. He is regarded as one of the brightest talents in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Trabzon native is under contract until 2022. He has scored two goals and provided four assists in 17 appearances this season.
