The Confederation of African Football on Thursday stated that while they were monitoring the spread of the coronavirus outbreak, which was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation on Wednesday, all competitions were going ahead.
The CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup, as well as the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) are going ahead as it stands, with CAF saying: "No African country [to date] has been declared a high risk."
CHAN is slated to be played in Cameroon from early April, and CAF will be sending a delegation to the country on March 14 to assess the situation. But for now, the tournament for Africa's domestic-based players remains.

The statement added that games could be played without fans: "CAF has been informed of the restrictive measures taken by the authorities of some Member Associations and is in contact to find solutions on a case-by-case basis, with the option of the organization of matches behind closed doors."
The statement comes in the wake of the new pandemic status of the outbreak, as well as the suspension of the NBA in the US on Wednesday night.
Before this, the inaugural Basketball Africa League, which would have tipped off in Senegal on March 13, was postponed indefinitely by the NBA.
