The confederation is looking to resume the matches at a centralized location, either in the United States or in Mexico. The revised format would include single-leg games wherever possible.
The first legs of three of the four quarterfinal matchups were completed before the suspension in play in mid-March. Club America holds a 3-0 lead over Atlanta United FC, Tigres has a 1-0 advantage over NYCFC, and Olimpia leads the Montreal Impact 2-1. Cruz Azul and LAFC have yet to play.
TSN 690 in Montreal was first to report the planned resumption.
If CCL does resume, it will be likely due to FIFA postponing the Club World Cup tournament, usually held in the winter break. That would also allow for the Confederations Cup to be played during that window.
