"It's a dream really," she said in her postmatch interview. "It has come full circle which is really strange. To have made my debut against Austria, to now get my 100th cap against Austria.
"But for me, I just wanted the team to win. It was a really hard game but I'm so proud of the team, the way we stuck in there, a clean sheet, and obviously the three points, so yeah I'm really happy."
Austria started the game brightly, launching an attack straight away and winning a corner.
However, it was White who broke the deadlock on 38 minutes with help from Fran Kirby.
The Chelsea forward tapped the ball across the face of goal and White was there to hit it into the net.
The goal puts White one behind equalling Kelly Smith's all-time England record.
England play Latvia in their next World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.
