Man United's Millie Turner out for 'an indefinite period' due to artery issue

Manchester United have said that defender Millie Turner will be out of the squad for an "indefinite period" due to an issue with the artery in her neck.

United released a statement on Sunday ahead of their side's Women's Super League game against Tottenham which confirmed the reason behind Turner's absence.

"Manchester United can confirm that Millie Turner will be unavailable for today's game and for an indefinite period, after recent medical investigations revealed an issue with the artery in her neck," the statement said.

"Millie will continue to work closely with the club's medical team and specialists, which will involve modified training and reassessments in the coming weeks and months.

"Everyone at the club wishes Millie a speedy recovery."

Turner has made seven appearances in all competitions for United this season. She has been with United since it was formed in 2018.

The 28-year-old previously played for Everton and Bristol City.

She received her first senior call up to the England squad in 2020 as part of a 30-player training camp. She has been capped at youth level but never senior.
