Two bouts, including Anthony Pettis-Max Holloway, added to UFC 206

A pair of bouts have been added to UFC 206 in Toronto, including a pivotal meeting between exciting featherweights, the UFC announced Wednesday.

Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis (19-5) takes on the red-hot Max Holloway (16-3) in a 145-pound showdown. In addition, bantamweights Mitch Gagnon and Matthew Lopez will square off.

UFC 206 takes place on Dec. 10 at Air Canada Centre, headlined by a light heavyweight title rematch between defending champion Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson.

Pettis, 29, looks for his second straight win at featherweight after moving down in weight to dominate Charles Oliveira by third-round submission in his August debut. The victory snapped a three-fight losing skid at lightweight which began with his title loss to Rafael dos Anjos in March 2015.

Holloway, 24, will put his nine-fight winning streak on the line as he looks to close in on an elusive title shot. The native of Hawaii hasn't lost since dropping a decision to Conor McGregor in April 2013 and enters the bout as the No. 3-ranked featherweight by ESPN.com. He has run off a string of impressive wins over the past year against the likes of Jeremy Stephens, Oliveira and Cub Swanson, including an all-action decision win over Ricardo Lamas at UFC 199 in June.

Gagnon (12-3) returns to his native Ontario for his first appearance in the Octagon since a 2014 submission loss to Renan Barao and a knee injury that followed. He takes on Lopez (8-1), who dropped his UFC debut in July via third-round submission to Rani Yahya.
