Bellator MMA welterweight Michael Page has been forced to pull out of a scheduled fight against Derek Anderson on May 19 in London because of a knee injury.
Bellator officials confirmed Page's withdrawal to ESPN.com. The news was first reported by The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday.
Page (12-0) hasn't fought since a split-decision win over Fernando Gonzalez in November. The undefeated Brit is one of Bellator's most entertaining fighters, and Anderson would have been arguably his toughest matchup to date.
With the fight coming up, Bellator opted to pull Anderson from the event entirely. The matchup was supposed to serve as the co-main event. It has been replaced with a light heavyweight fight featuring Liam McGeary and Linton Vassell.
A No. 1 welterweight contender fight between Rory MacDonald (18-4) and Paul Daley (39-14) is scheduled to headline the televised event, which takes place inside Wembley Arena.
