Sources: Hooker, Iaquinta agree to Oct. 5 bout

Ask and you shall receive, Dan Hooker.

Al Iaquinta vs. Hooker has been verbally agreed to for UFC 243 on Oct. 5 in Melbourne, Australia, multiple sources told ESPN. The fight is expected to be signed in the coming days.

Hooker (18-8) knocked out James Vick last month in San Antonio. Following the win, he offered a challenge to anyone in the lightweight division to fight him on the card. He wanted to share the bill with his good friend and training partner Israel Adesanya, who meets Robert Whittaker in the main event for the unified middleweight title.

Hours later via Twitter, Iaquinta offered up his services. Iaquinta (14-5-1) will look to rebound following a unanimous decision loss to Donald Cerrone in May.

The event will take place at Marvel Stadium, and the promotion is hoping to draw approximately 60,000 fans, which would be a record.
