All-Star Grades: TEAM HILL | TEAM WEBBER | 3-POINT | SKILLS | DUNK | SHOOTING
A
Team Lillard/Burke
Portland Trail Blazers/Utah Jazz
First round: 40.6 seconds
Final round: 45.2 seconds
ANALYSIS
The champions seemed to want this more than anyone else. Damian Lillard was perfect through his first run and Trey Burke moved fastest through the dribbling drills of any competitor. That hustle allowed Lillard and Burke to overcome two missed shots apiece and pull off the narrow victory by one-tenth of a second over Team Carter-Williams/Oladipo.
B
Team Carter-Williams/Oladipo
Philadelphia 76ers/Orlando Magic
First round: 43.3 seconds
Final round: 45.3 seconds
ANALYSIS
Tough night for Rookie of the Year favorite Michael Carter-Williams, who appeared to airball a jumper in the opening round and missed three times from the top of the key in the final, opening the door for Team Lillard/Burke despite Victor Oladipo's best efforts.
B
Team DeRozan/Antetokounmpo
Toronto Raptors/Milwaukee Bucks
First round: 45.0 seconds
ANALYSIS
As it turns out, the time that wasn't good enough for DeMar DeRozan and Giannis Antetokounmpo to advance would have won them the final. The team without a point guard may have been at a disadvantage in the passing competition.
B-
Team Jackson/Dragic
Oklahoma City Thunder/Phoenix Suns
First round: 42.3 seconds
ANALYSIS
A relatively clean performance -- both Goran Dragic and Reggie Jackson were perfect on passes and missed one jumper -- marred by Jackson's half-hearted effort level. Since nobody made any egregious errors, that proved costly.
