The analytics perspective
After a slow start that had him on the fringes of Bill Self's rotation in November, Oubre settled into a fairly typical freshman season for a one-and-done wing prospect. While it's difficult to find a good comparison for some prospects, Oubre has seven players with a similarity score of 90 or higher. Their NBA production runs the gamut, from All-Star Luol Deng to failed lottery pick Xavier Henry, but most of the group developed into quality starters, and in time Oubre figures to do the same.
