Oklahoma State sophomore guard Jawun Evans is entering the 2017 NBA draft, he told ESPN on Tuesday.
"I am going to enter the 2017 NBA Draft. I want to Thank Everyone at OSU," Evans told ESPN's Jeff Goodman via text message. "This was a tough decision. OSU will forever be in my heart."
A source told The Undefeated that Evans has every intention of staying in the draft, which will take place June 22. He has until June 12 to withdraw from the process and return to Oklahoma State.
Evans averaged 19.2 points, 6.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 29.2 minutes per game during the 2016-17 season for the Cowboys. He is considered a late first-round prospect in a draft deep in point guard talent.
The former McDonald's All America selection was a 2017 second-team All-Big 12 selection and was selected to the 2017 All-Big 12 defensive team.
