Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols, it was announced Monday.
The Celtics now have nine players on the list, though 13 players entered the COVID-19 protocols last week.
Tatum tested positive for COVID-19 last season and detailed the lingering effects he had after he returned to action.
In his fifth season, Tatum leads Boston in both scoring (25.6 points per game) and rebounding (8.6 rebounds).
His absence showed on Monday. Jaylen Nowell scored 29 points and Nathan Knight added 20 points and 11 rebounds, leading the host Minnesota Timberwolves to a 108-103 win over the Celtics.
Jaden McDaniels scored 17 points and Malik Beasley added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves, who were playing without all five of their regular starters due to COVID-19 protocols themselves.
The Celtics will now return to Boston for a four-game homestand.
