New Jersey Nets shooting guard Keith Bogans will miss the rest of the season after undergoing successful surgery to repair a torn deltoid ligament and fractured left ankle at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.
Since he is out for the year, the Nets waived him on Tuesday to sign D-League small forward Andre Emmett.
The team said Bogans is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of training camp in 2012-13.
The surgery was performed by foot specialist Dr. Martin O'Malley and Nets team orthopedist Dr. Riley Williams III.
Bogans suffered the injuries late in the fourth quarter of his team's loss to the Pistons on Feb. 8.
Bogans ended up playing just five games with the Nets after signing with them as a free agent on Feb. 1, averaging 4.2 points and 2.2 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per game.
