METAIRIE, La. -- New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Ochsner Medical Center after being admitted more than two weeks ago with flu symptoms.
Benson is in stable condition and has shown signs of improvement, according to a statement released by the team.

Mr. Benson remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Ochsner Medical Center. He remains in stable condition and has shown signs of improving.
Mrs. Benson once again thanks everyone for their continued support and prayers.
Benson, 90, has battled some health issues in recent years, including a brief hospitalization for exhaustion in October. He also endured complications from multiple knee surgeries, beginning in 2014, that left him heavily medicated and were highly publicized during a prolonged legal battle with his estranged heirs.
Benson's health improved after those surgeries, according to those close to him.
