GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals left guard Justin Pugh is active for Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos despite a broken left hand.
Pugh, who suffered the injury Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, went through a pregame test about 90 minutes before kickoff to determine if he could play. A few minutes later, his name was not among the list of inactive players who were announced.
Pugh's left hand is completely wrapped in a cast. The swelling had gone down significantly from Sunday night to Wednesday, but Pugh said he was still in a good deal of pain.
Pugh had said throughout the week he wanted to play Thursday but didn't want to take a roster spot from a healthy player if he couldn't be as productive as he could be.
