The Edmonton Oilers are reward Alex Chiasson for his breakout season with a two-year contract worth $2.15 annually.
Chiasson had a career year with 22 goals and 16 assists after entering Edmonton training camp on a professional tryout and signing a one-year, $650,000 deal. He even spent some time on the top line with Connor McDavid.
Chiasson, 28, has played for five teams in his seven-year career. Before last season, Chiasson's best season was 35 points in 2013-14 for Dallas.
Chiasson's yearly salaries have been going backward, from $1.2 million for the Senators in 2015-16, to $800,000 from the Flames, to $660,000 from the Capitals, to the $650,000 last season.
