Late decisions for Gloucester

Nigel Melville will have to wait until near kick off before finalising his Gloucester side to play Rotherham on Sunday.

Amongst those who may not play are Winger James Simpson-Daniel, who will be tested to the full during Saturday's final training session, after missing the last two games with a rib injury. Joining Simpson-Daniel is captain Jake Boer, who missed the latter part of the week's training with a hamstring complaint. The 28 year-old club captain also faces a late call on Saturday.

Open-side flanker Andy Hazell could come in for Boer. If Simpson-Daniel doesn't come through Saturday's training session, Melville is likely to name both Josh Frape and Mark Foster, who made his debut last week, on the wings.

Depending on the outcome of Saturday's fitness tests, the Rotherham fixture could provide Riaan van der Bergh the opportunity to start from the bench. The former Bulls wing/full-back arrived at Kingsholm from South Africa on Thursday and spent Friday morning settling in at the West Country club.

Rodrigo Roncero, who scored a 50-metre interception try in the 38-12 win over Sale last Saturday, will line up alongside 38 year-old Andy Deacon and Chris Fortey in the front row, and the second row of Alex Brown and Mark Cornwell stays the same.

The Gloucester players away on international duty are Henry Paul, Phil Vickery, Trevor Woodman and Andy Gomarsall with England, and Marcel Garvey, Andy Frost, Brad Davies and Nick Wood with the England U21s. Open-side flanker James Merriman is with Wales U21s. The other two absentees for the Cherry and Whites are Thinus Delport and Steve Brotherstone (both long-term knee).

Should Jake Boer miss out through injury, Gloucester stalwart Andy Deacon will wear the captain's armband.
