2019 WNBA All-Star Game to be at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas

MINNEAPOLIS -- The 2019 WNBA All-Star Game will be hosted by the Las Vegas Aces and played at Mandalay Bay Events Center, league president Lisa Borders announced Saturday.

The game will be played July 27, 2019.

This is the first year the WNBA has been in Las Vegas, as the Stars franchise moved from San Antonio to become the Aces, who are owned by MGM Resorts International.

"Las Vegas fans have enthusiastically supported the Aces in their first season and will now have the chance to see the best players in the world compete on the same court next summer," Borders said.

The Aces had the No. 1 pick in the April draft, and they selected South Carolina's A'ja Wilson. She was the only rookie in this year's All-Star Game and is the front-runner for Rookie of the Year.

"In Las Vegas, putting on a show is what we do and next summer will be no different," Aces coach and president of basketball operations Bill Laimbeer said. "We expect to provide the WNBA players and fans with an experience like nothing they have seen before."
