LONDON -- Adrian Peterson told ESPN NFL Insider Josina Anderson that he’s fine and expects to practice fully on Friday after missing Thursday’s practice. The New Orleans Saints listed the reason for Peterson's absence as "rest."
“I’m good," Peterson insisted.
Peterson has not missed any practice time because of injury this year, although he did get some scheduled rest days throughout the summer. The 32-year-old missed 13 games last season after suffering a torn meniscus in his knee in Week 2.
Peterson has just 23 carries for 77 yards and two catches for 4 yards this year as part of New Orleans’ crowded backfield. It didn’t help that the Saints found themselves playing from behind early in losses to Minnesota and New England in Weeks 1 and 2.
Last week, Peterson had a season-high 33 yards on nine carries, including a season-long 11-yard run, and both of his receptions in a 34-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Saints fullback John Kuhn also missed Thursday's practice with a biceps injury after practicing fully on Wednesday.
The rest of New Orleans’ injury report was filled with positive news.
Offensive tackle Terron Armstead was upgraded to limited participation in team drills Thursday after he participated in individual drills on Wednesday. Armstead is working his way back from June shoulder surgery, although it's unclear if he'll be able to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins in London.
Cornerback Marshon Lattimore (concussion) practiced fully for the second straight day and was removed from the injury report. Offensive tackle Zach Strief (knee) practiced on a limited basis for the second straight day after being sidelined since Week 1. Cornerback Sterling Moore (chest) practiced on a limited basis for the second straight day after being sidelined last week. And linebacker Nathan Stupar (hamstring) was limited for the second straight day.
Receiver Willie Snead has not been listed on the Saints’ practice report this week, although he has been working off to the side during the early portion of practice open to the media. It’s unclear if Snead has participated in any team or individual drills or if the Saints were waiting for that step until he was fully reinstated to the roster on Thursday afternoon.
