Welterweight champion Terence Crawford defends his WBO belt against former two-time titlist Shawn Porter in the main event of Saturday's Top Rank card at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas (ESPN+ PPV, 9 p.m. ET with prelims at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN+).
Crawford (37-0, 28 KOs), 34, of Omaha, Nebraska, won the undisputed junior welterweight championship with a third-round KO victory over Julius Indongo in 2017. He then moved up to welterweight, and in his first fight in the division, Crawford won the WBO title from Jeff Horn in 2018. He has made four successful defenses since, including a fourth-round TKO victory over Kell Brook in November 2020.
Porter (31-3-1, 17 KOs), 34, of Akron, Ohio has fought the best the welterweight division has to offer. He has held a version of the welterweight title twice, and has victories over Devon Alexander, Paulie Malignaggi, Adrien Broner and Danny Garcia, among others.
The Porter matchup is an opportunity for Crawford to get that signature victory in the division that his résumé is missing. For Porter, this is a chance to regain the title against a pound-for-pound fighter, and show he's still one of the best fighter at 147 pounds.
