Gregory Little, ranked No. 2 in ESPN 300, commits to Ole Miss

Gregory Little, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the country, is headed to the SEC.

The five-star prospect and No. 1-ranked offensive tackle in the Class of 2016 committed to Ole Miss on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-5, 318-pound Little, who attends Texas power Allen High, chose Ole Miss over Alabama after official visits with the Crimson Tide, Auburn, Georgia and LSU.

Little's commitment marks the second class in a row in which the Rebels have pulled a highly ranked prospect out of the Dallas area following wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge a year ago. But Little is the first five-star verbal commit out of Texas for Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze and staff.

Little first committed to Texas A&M in June of 2014 in what looked to be a slam dunk for the Aggies with former teammate and 2015 five-star quarterback Kyler Murray headed to College Station, but he decommitted in July of 2015.

Instead, Little will head to Oxford with teammate Jaylon Jones with the opportunity to start from Day 1 at left tackle, with junior Laremy Tunsil expected to enter the NFL draft after the season.

The Under Armour All-America Game selection becomes the 10th ESPN 300 verbal for the Rebels. He joins quarterback Shea Patterson and five-star defensive tackle Benito Jones as the headliners of the No. 6-ranked class according to RecruitingNation prior to the Little's commitment.

Little becomes the fourth pledge from Texas for Ole Miss, and he is not expected to be the last with the Rebels considered the leader for No. 2-ranked safety Deontay Anderson.
