The core of USC's 2025 recruiting class took a hit with the decommitment of four-star defensive end Isaiah Gibson on Tuesday evening.
"God's plan," Gibson posted to X, confirming the news.
Gibson, the No. 28 overall recruit in the 2025 ESPN 300 and the third-ranked defensive end in the class, had previously committed to the Trojans on March 24. He tallied 17 sacks in his junior season at Georgia's Warner Robins High School.
Despite his March commitment, Gibson's spring featured a flurry of official visits across the country. In recent weeks, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound edge rusher has visited Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida and Ohio State. He is slated to visit Oklahoma this weekend.
USC's 2025 recruiting class remains stocked with talent, led by quarterback Julian Lewis, the No. 1 overall prospect, and five-star defensive tackle Justus Terry, ranked No. 7. Also on defense, the Trojans are set to add safety Hylton Stubb (No. 94), outside linebackers Matai Tagoa'i (No. 143) and Hayden Lowe (No. 272), cornerback Trestin Castro and defensive end Gus Cordova.
