LOS ANGELES -- USC's junior day might not have netted any verbal commitments, but it would be difficult to call Sunday's events anything other than a success for Lane Kiffin and staff.
During the past few months, many 2013 recruits were told by the USC staff that they would begin recruiting that class in earnest shortly after national signing day. In the days following Feb. 1, several offers were sent to out-of-state recruits, as the Trojans hit the Southeast -- especially Florida -- hard. Just three players on the West Coast held USC offers late last week, but that changed in a big way as the Trojans staff turned its attention to the local landscape.
The weekend began with an offer to safety Priest Willis (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos De Niza) on Friday, and USC finds itself in good position with the 6-foot-1, 195-pound athlete after his second visit to the Trojans' campus in two months.
