I am excited that the start of the college basketball season is right around the corner.
I love to look at players that can make a difference, guys who are not necessarily the crème de la crème in their respective conferences.
Here are five players to keep an eye on this season:
Justin Jackson, Maryland Terrapins
Terps coach Mark Turgeon is excited about Jackson's potential. He can flat-out score. Jackson was solid shooting the trifecta last season and can also take the ball to the hoop and score inside. His productivity will go up. He was recognized as preseason All-Big Ten.
Bruce Brown Jr., Miami Hurricanes
Miami has big expectations for the super sophomore, who can score in transition. He averaged under 12PPG last season; those stats will go up this season.
KeVaughn Allen, Florida Gators
An outstanding shooter for Mike White's highly-regarded Gators. He dominated against Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament. He is one of the nation's premier shooting guards.
Killian Tillie, Gonzaga Bulldogs
Mark Few has relied on big men inside and now Tillie should step up and produce solid numbers in an expanded role. A solid passer who has good mobility in the lane.
Markis McDuffie, Wichita State Shockers
Now in the AAC, McDuffie should have a big season scoring and rebounding. He will have his share of double-doubles for the Shockers.
Keep an eye on these five to make noise this season.
