ESPN pulls Curt Schilling from LLWS duty after 'unacceptable' tweet

ESPN has taken baseball analyst Curt Schilling off the air after he sent a tweet equating Muslim extremists with Nazis in Germany.

"Curt's tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company's perspective," ESPN said in a statement. "We made that point very strongly to Curt and have removed him from his current Little League assignment pending further consideration."

The tweet was later deleted.

Schilling later called the tweet "a bad decision."

Schilling was pulled from the Little League World Series on Wednesday. On Thursday, ESPN confirmed he would not be working this week's Sunday Night Baseball telecast.

Schilling joined ESPN as an analyst on Baseball Tonight in 2010. He was added to the Sunday Night Baseball team in time for the 2014 season. He pitched for 20 seasons in the majors with Baltimore, Houston, Philadelphia, Arizona and Boston.

In 2014, he fought an eight-month battle with mouth cancer.
