McLaren has released its first images of the MP4-31 ahead of the first test of 2016.
McLaren comes into the new season following its worst season since 1980, which came after a tough start to its partnership with engine supplier Honda. Both team and manufacturer, which has done extensive work on its power unit this winter, hope the MP4-31 will catapult the team back up the grid to competitiveness this season.
The team's release announcement called the MP4-31, which has continued the 'size-zero' chassis approach of its predecessor, "striking and innovative". The livery is largely unchanged from last season's black and red colour scheme.
To accompany the launch the team released a video to Twitter.
