There were huge expectations coming into this season for Devonta Freeman, as the 2015 running back scoring champion was so highly valued that he ranked tenth in average draft position (ADP) in ESPN leagues prior to the season.
Freeman was a significant disappointment to those fantasy owners this past week, as his 18 yards from scrimmage against the Rams in Week 14 were the lowest Freeman has posted in a single game since his rookie season, when he was rarely used in the Falcons' offense. This lack of production led Freeman to post only one point in ESPN standard league scoring, which is tied for the third-lowest single-game mark in his career.
The Week 14 debacle could lead fantasy owners to wonder if this trend will continue during the playoffs, but owners in dynasty leagues will also ponder if Freeman is ever going to get back to his elite 2015 form.
