Don't be fooled by June surges, recency bias in points leagues

There's not a one of us who doesn't succumb to recency bias on at least some level. Yes, when looking at fantasy players, we're all prone to ask, as Janet Jackson put it so succinctly, what have you done for me lately? However, that approach to making your roster and lineup moves doesn't really seem to hold up as a successful strategy over the long haul.

Just because a player's recent run of success has led you to think that he's so peachy keen, more often than not, his dancing feet are just going to end up back on your couch if you overreact to a few good weeks at the plate. But logic rarely plays a role here.
