Thomas Muller says he is honoured by Manchester United's interest in signing him, but wants to stay at Bayern Munich and win more titles alongside fellow United target Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Muller, 25, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months to work alongside Louis van Gaal once again, with sources telling ESPN FC in April that the Dutch coach was looking to sign the forward this summer.
When asked about United making an offer for him, Muller told Sport Bild: "When you get an offer you consider it automatically. A request by a big club is an honour and appreciation that your output was good."
But Muller decided to stay at the club he has played for since the youth academy, saying: "I feel fine at Bayern and my contract runs until 2019. There is nothing more to say about this speculation."
Muller has won four Bundesliga titles and is targeting the record of eight jointly held by former Allianz Arena players Memet Scholl, Oliver Kahn and Schweinsteiger, saying: "It is not my main ambition to be the first to win nine titles at Bayern, but as long as I'm here the chance is there. We want to win the title every year."
Muller also commented on the future of teammate Schweinsteiger, who has hinted he would like to stay in Munich despite interest from United.
He continued: "I was on holiday so I have not seen Bastian lately. He will take a good decision on his future together with the club. Both parties won't ask me about my opinion on the matter."
Muller would prefer Schweinsteiger to stay though, adding: "I would be happy to play alongside him as long as possible."
Another Bayern player linked with an exit this summer is Mario Gotze, who was named alongside Rafael van der Vaart as one of biggest disappointments of the Bundesliga season by his fellow professionals.
Muller defended the playmaker, saying: "I can't fully understand the discussions about Mario Gotze. In a team like ours with so many great players everybody has to work hard to earn his place.
"But he has played many games and contributed to our successful season. His qualities are indisputable."
Muller thinks starting his career at Bayern has made life more difficult, adding: "It might be harder to be appreciated if you come from the club's own youth ranks. When a club wants to buy a player, the officials canvass him.
"They put confidence in the player because otherwise they would not invest a lot of money for him. If you are already at the club they automatically expect you to stay."
