Manchester United striker Robin van Persie would be making the "right decision" if he left Old Trafford for Fenerbahce according to his former teammate Nani, who has just signed for the Turkish club.
Van Persie, 31, has been linked with a move this summer after a disappointing season, although the Netherlands striker's agent insisted at the weekend that no deal had been struck.
Nani brought his own eight-year United career to an end when he signed for the Turkish club on Monday in a €6 million deal, and he has encouraged Van Persie to join him in Istanbul as part of Vitor Pereira's revamped side.
"I haven't had the chance to talk with Robin van Persie yet," the Portugal winger said at his unveiling. "But if he comes to Fenerbahce, I am sure that he will be very successful. I know Robin very well and it would be right decision if Fenerbahce sign him."
Van Persie's agent, Kees Vos, has denied his client has agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce.
But the striker himself has voiced his desire to play first-team football and his determination to figure in Euro 2016, with United manager Louis van Gaal refusing to guarantee the player will still be at Old Trafford next season.
Van Persie, who captained Van Gaal's Netherlands side to third place in the 2014 World Cup, lost his place as United's first-choice striker to Wayne Rooney last season.
He only managed 10 goals, his worst return since his injury-hit 2007-08 campaign, compared to the 30 he managed in his debut season for United.
The former Arsenal captain, who was a £24 million signing in 2012, has one year left on his contract and earns £240,000 a week.
